For almost 2 years I have dedicated myself to designing practical and affordable cake toppers.  Thinking outside the box and testing the limits of cake design I have created some of the most diverse and extraordinary toppers.  No matter how simple your cake is, a little ribbon and the perfect topper you can turn simple into spectacular without breaking the bank. Airplane CakeAdd 1 or 2 drops of blue food coloring to your buttercream frosting.  Mix and add red dye until you get the desired blue.For the clouds I used white icing already in a pouch with tips.  Only about $2-$3 at Walmart.  The finishing touch is my Red Airplane Topper.  This adorable red and white wood toy airplane is hand painted. The plane has moving wheels and propeller making it not only a cake decoration on the day of your party but is the perfect lasting keepsake.  Wingspan: 3 ¼” Front-Back: 3 ¾” Tall without stick: 1 ½” Tall with stick: 6 ¼” The Airplane is also available in vintage varnish or orange & white.  CandyLand Cake Add 1 or 2 drops of red food coloring to your buttercream frosting.  Mix and add red dye until you get the desired pink. To create a contrast I selected a darker pink polka dot ribbon then topped it with one of my toppers. This topper has a colorful mix of lollipops that surround a candy colored rhinestone number 4. Opening up my Etsy shop was both exciting and nerve racking.  I was so optimistic, but mixed emotions wrestled inside of me.  I had not had my first sale, but I could already envision the sales count climbing; yet the pessimist in me saw a complete bust.I dove in head first, but quickly realize I was in over my head.  Marketing my shop made me feel like I had to be an advertising expert, professional photographer, graphics designer, customer mediator and social media guru.If you are reading this you may have already realized that being creative or having a good eye for amazing vintage products is not enough to be successful and build a cliental on Etsy.  Truth be told selling online can be quite overwhelming.  So how do you face the daunting task of taking amazing photos, getting a large amount of followers on social media and what the heck is SEO???My first bit of advice; don’t get hung up in being perfect and most importantly, do not get discouraged.  Here are some simple yet effective ideas and tips to help improve your Etsy sales.NetworkFor starters, join a few Etsy teams where you can promote others and they promote you.  You may be a member of a few teams; good for you, but joining is not enough.  Do your homework.  Pick 2 or 3 good teams; and by good I mean active.  Just because a team has 500 or more members does not…

I FINALLY DID IT!!
